The Methodology for collecting data on educational and professional pathways of students according to their social and economic status published

The Methodology for collecting data on educational and professional pathways of students according to their social and economic status was published as a part of the Erasmus+ SIDERAL project – Social and International Dimension of Education and Recognition of Acquired Learning.

The Methodology has resulted from implementing the measures of the National Plan for the Enhancement of the Social Dimension of Higher Education in the Republic of Croatia 2019-2021. Its first goal "Systematically collect and process data relevant to improving the social dimension of higher education and use them for this purpose“ states specific activities that include the integration and systematization of existing databases of various bodies and the adoption of a unique and standardized methodology for collecting, managing and using data on the social and economic status of students and other indicators of vulnerability.

The Methodology was developed on the basis of information collected from higher education institutions through a questionnaire on the implementation of the National Plan's  measures, as well as through an analysis of the data collection system by the Ministry of Science and Education in official records of students, programs, higher education institutions and grants.

The purpose of the Methodology is to lay the foundations for the establishment of a technical system for collecting relevant and efficient data that would serve policy makers in matters of public funding, as well as higher education institutions for targeted measures and improving the social dimension at higher education institutions, taking into account personal data protection.
